Homecoming season always reminds me of the funniest float I have ever seen. At our high school (and, I'm guessing, most other high schools) it is tradition for the students to construct floats for the parade. In addition to the individual classes building floats, several of the extra-
curricular organizations would enter floats into the parade. The floats typically started with grand ideas and a low budget, and ended with an unspectacular entry that looked underfunded. One year the
FFA (Future Farmers of America) came up with an outstanding float idea. They towed an empty
hayrack with the caption "WE SCARED 'EM ALL AWAY." This groups creativity was only exceeded by their laziness.
