As any younger sibling is prone to do, Zach likes to do what his older sisters do. Unfortunately, that has led him to watching Mama Mia! over and over and listening to ABBA. We drove to Des Moines last weekend and we spent entirely too much time listening to ABBA while Zach attempted to sing along. He butchered "Dancing Queen," but what do you expect from a two-year-old. Not only does he listen to ABBA, but he gets pissed when we change the CD to something that doesn't suck.
I was starting to feel like there was no hope for him. He was destined to do whatever his sisters wanted him to do, instead of being a sports-crazed meathead like me. Well, I got a breif glimmer of hope last night. The women of the house left so Zach and I had the place to ourselves. After we finished a dinner of mostly meat products, he turned to me and said "Watch TV football Daddy." Granted, there was no live football on tv on a Tuesday night in August, but we did find a classic college football game between Purdue and Notre Dame. Zach fell asleep after about a half hour, but who could blame him. Notre Dame makes me sleepy also.
